Book on inclusive education released at national gender equity conference

A book on inclusive education strategies edited by Dr Madhukar Gampala was released at a national conference on gender equity, highlighting practical and theoretical approaches to creating equitable and diverse classroom environments across India.

HYDERABAD: A new book on inclusive education strategies was released during the inaugural session of a two-day national conference on “Gender Equity in Urban India: Bridging Gap through Policy Planning and Public Finance”, in Osmania University on Tuesday.

Titled Inclusive Education: Strategies for Diverse Classrooms, the book is edited by Dr. Madhukar Gampala, Associate Professor in the Department of Education at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Tura Campus, Meghalaya.


The publication was released by Dr. P. P. Anil Kumar, Chairman, Centre of Excellence in Urban Planning and Design at NIT Calicut; Prof. B. Srinagesh, Director, RCUES and convenor of the conference; and Dr. B. K. Pandey, Professor of Practice at the Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management (AJNIFM), Haryana.

The edited volume comprises 20 chapters focusing on strategies to promote inclusive classrooms. Contributors include teachers, researchers and education practitioners from across the country, offering diverse perspectives on addressing the needs of varied learners.

The book aims to combine theoretical frameworks with practical approaches to help educators create equitable learning environments and respond to the evolving needs of students.

Speakers at the event highlighted the alignment between the book’s theme and the conference’s focus on gender equity, noting that inclusive education is central to achieving broader social and urban equity.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhukar Gampala said inclusive education was essential in a diverse society and the book brings together practical insights to help educators build classrooms where all students can thrive.
