Book on women’s health ‘Stree’ released in Hyderabad
From puberty to menopause, the book strives to cover everything a woman wants to know and doesn't know whom to ask
Hyderabad: A Telugu book titled ‘Stree’, which provides holistic information related to a host of topics on women’s health, authored by senior Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgeon and alumni of Osmania Medical College (OMC), Dr H Narmada, was launched recently in Hyderabad.
From puberty to menopause, the book strives to cover everything a woman wants to know but doesn’t know how to ask. Such doubts and questions are answered in this book, written in a reader-friendly format, says Dr Narmada said.
A 1977 batch alumni of OGH, Dr Narmada launched the book in the presence of more than 150 of her batch mates, who had come to Hyderabad from various parts of the world.
The book of 180 pages has 61 chapters including Puberty, Marriage, Child Birth, Alert on New Borns, Menopause, Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is a hormonal disorder; Nutrition, health problems encountered by Pregnant Women, Breast Cancer, Infertility, Test Tube Baby, Child Nutrition etc and many more such interesting things.
Priced at just Rs 20, Dr Narmada doesn’t have any intention of selling, as she now plans to circulate it for free of cost.
