Hyderabad: A five-year-old boy, who was kidnapped from the Secunderabad railway station on Friday, was rescued by police on Saturday and handed over to his parents.
The family had gone to Nizamabad on some work and returned to the city in the early hours of Friday.
According the SN Jaweed, DSP Secunderabad Railway Police, the father of the boy, Anil Kumar, after arriving at the railway station, decided to take rest until morning at platform number 1.
When the family was asleep, someone kidnapped the child.
Anil Kumar woke up and found his son missing.
The family complained to the GRP Secunderabad, who registered a case and started an investigation.
On Saturday afternoon, the child was found at Bhoiguda.
“The kidnapper, fearing arrest, left the child and escaped. Teams are trying to identify and nab him,” said the DSP.
