Hyderabad: Relatives of a 23-year-old man, Gopagani Madhu, an accountant at a private hospital and a resident of Valigonda, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, who was declared brain dead, donated his organs to patients in need under the Jeevandan organ donation initiative.

On October 22, Madhu met with an accident while travelling on his two-wheeler at Valigonda and was shifted to a private hospital there before being moved to Hyderabad for advanced treatment. After emergency treatment, Madhu was declared brain dead on October 27.

His father Gopagani Venkatesham made the heartfelt decision to donate his son’s kidneys, liver and lungs and help four patients in need. Jeevandan Telangana has extended its gratitude to the family of Gopagani Madhu, whose noble decision has saved lives. With this, the total number of organ donations this year in Telangana through Jeevandan has reached 171.
