Hyderabad: Centre for Online Learning, Dr BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) in collaboration with Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) has launched a massive open online course on stress management.
Launching the course on Thursday, Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar said that changed eating habits, weather conditions and the pandemic were putting a lot of pressure on people, leading to heart diseases, high blood pressure and other mental illnesses.
BRAOU Vice-Chancellor Prof K Seetharama Rao said anyone who wants to learn and be aware on stress, causes, symptoms and warning signals, and learn the techniques of stress reduction can enroll for the course.
Learners who are already enrolled in the UG programme of the University can complete the course and in such cases the course credits can be counted for their regular programmes. Students who are not enrolled with the BRAOU should possess minimum Intermediate or equivalent qualification to join the course.
Prof Madhu Parhar, Director, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia; Prof Ghanta Chakrapani, Dean, Faculty of Social Science & Director (Academic) I/c; and Dr G Laxma Reddy, Registrar of the University, also spoke on the occasion.
