Breaking records: Man drinks 2L bottle of soda in 18.45 seconds

Eric managed to drink a two-litre bottle of sugar-free cola in an incredible 18.45 seconds in Shelden, New York.

A US competitive eater Eric “Badlands” Booker has set an incredible new Guinness World Record for ‘drinking two litres of soda in the fastest time’.

His YouTube channel BadlandsChugs, as the name suggests, is built around his talent for chugging drinks. From mountains of Mountain Dew to an ice cold 44 oz Sprite, Badlands takes on challenge after challenge to see how quickly he can down different beverages.

And trying his skills with multiple carbonated drinks is what prompted him to attempt the Guinness World Record, he said. Eric managed to drink a two-litre bottle of sugar-free cola in an incredible 18.45 seconds in Shelden, New York.

Sharing the record, Guinness posted a video of Eric’s record-breaking attempt on YouTube in which he is seen pouring the bottle into a measuring cup to get an accurate measurement of the volume of the beverage and for easier drinkability.

As he gulps the complete bottle, Eric lets out a massive burp. That’s the price you pay for a record-breaking chug! “Yes! That’s what I’m talking about. That’s delicious,” he said after finishing his drink.

Booker said he is considering taking on a solid food challenge for his next record.
