Hyderabad: Jobs at the museum are usually quite interesting. To know about the age-old artefacts and explaining the same to visitors who walk in to soak in the beauty of the specimens on display is something quite different from any regular 9-5 jobs. Well, now a job listing of working at a museum in the UK is released, but the twist here is that the museum is dedicated to coffins.
Yes, the museum situated in England’s Birmingham city is on the lookout for a tour guide who could explain the history of coffin-making and also be comfortable talking about death and afterlife to the visitors.
As per the description posted by The Coffin Works Museum, the applicant must be able to tell stories about their building and collections and also engage actively with the visitors.
In addition to being a museum, Coffin Works also used to host death cafés where people would come together to socialise and eat while talking about loss or afterlife. Now, the museum is also considered to be the perfect place to ask questions about death – like how hot does the cremator get, and how does embalming work and so on. Sounds interesting?
