Mancherial: A BRS activist staged a protest by scaling an overhead tank, demanding the release of BRS district president Balka Suman in Chennur on Thursday.

Nayini Satheesh, an activist from the town, scaled the tank seeking the immediate release of Suman. He said Suman was illegally arrested and alleged that the Congress was harassing him for defeating the party in Kyathanpalli municipality. He demanded that the government release Suman at the earliest.

On receiving information, local police rushed to the tank and held consultations with the agitating activist. They managed to bring him down a little later.
