Hyderabad: Demanding a special Assembly session to debate the Formula-E issue, BRS leaders Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy, Balka Suman, Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy and others alleged a conspiracy to damage the image of party working president KT Rama Rao ahead of the local body elections.
Addressing a news conference at Telangana Bhavan, they dared Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to prove any corruption. They asserted that the race brought investments worth Rs.700 crore, enhanced Hyderabad’s global brand and was praised by Union Ministers and BJP Chief Ministers. They described the attempts to malign Rama Rao as vindictive political conspiracy and “third-class revenge politics”.
The Congress government is deliberately targeting BRS leaders to divert public attention from its administrative failures, broken promises, rising debt, cotton procurement crisis and law and order collapse, they said, alleging that the government was also misusing double-bedroom houses in Bhupalpally by allotting them to Congress workers after collecting Rs.1 lakh bribes from beneficiaries, while genuine poor families were denied the houses intended for them.
