Hyderabad: BRS leader A Rakesh Reddy on Friday launched a scathing attack on the Congress government over alleged irregularities in the Telangana Group-I examinations.

He lashed out at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for failing both the youth and mother tongue of Telangana.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Rakesh Reddy said Revanth Reddy promised two lakh jobs per annum through TGPSC before the Assembly elections.

“Forget two lakh, they couldn’t even evaluate 20,000 answer sheets of Group-I exams properly,” he remarked, stating out of 563 Group-1 posts, not a single Telugu medium student secured a rank in the top 500, raising suspicions over selection.

The BRS leader raised concerns over disproportionate success from select exam centres including 74 toppers from just two centres and all rankers from 15 centres.

He questioned identical marks for candidates from the same centres, and the lack of transparency in evaluation.

“They skipped the third evaluation, and even the second round was handled by contract staff, not regular professors,” he said, suspecting a match-fixing.

Rakesh Reddy demanded a re-evaluation of all Group-I papers, a probe into data leaks, and dialogue with protesting aspirants at Ashok Nagar, demanding justice.

He also questioned how Congress social media accounts could predict results in advance, suggesting possible leaks from TGPSC.

He also criticised the Chief Minister for disrespecting the Telugu language, by shutting down government Telugu-medium schools and excluding Telugu Academy books from the Groups’ syllabus.
