Medak: Former Minister T Harish Rao on Friday called upon the BRS cadre to work with military-like discipline to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming local body elections.
Speaking after welcoming Bhimari Yadagiri, Vittal Nayak, Srisaila and others from the Congress in Chinna Shankarampet, Medak district, into the party fold at his Kokapet residence, Rao alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil even one of the 420 promises made under its six guarantees.
He urged party workers to intensify efforts to expose the government’s failures and highlight the BRS government’s achievements during its 10-year rule. Emphasising unity, he said coordination between the cadre and leadership was key to defeating the Congress in the local polls.
Former BRS Medak MLA M Padma Devendar Reddy said the Congress was already facing public backlash despite having completed less than 20 months in office. She alleged the ruling party was likely to resort to the same tactics of false promises during the upcoming local elections as it did in the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
