Adilabad: Cadres of the BRS marked Deeksha Diwas across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Saturday.

Activists and leaders gathered at party offices in mandal centres, towns and district headquarters, where they unfurled the party flag to mark the occasion. They recalled how former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s fast-unto-death altered the course of the Telangana movement and compelled the Union government to create a separate state.

Meanwhile, MLA Kova Laxmi, BRS leaders Dr RS Praveen Kumar and Koneru Konappa, former Chennur MLA Balka Suman and former Mancherial MLA Nadipelli Diwakar Rao took part in celebrations in Asifabad and Mancherial towns. Similar colourful events were held in Nirmal.
