Deeksha Diwas celebrated on grand scale across Karimnagar region

The 16th Deeksha Diwas was observed across Karimnagar district with exhibitions, rituals and participation of senior BRS leaders, underscoring KCR’s role in the formation of a separate Telangana state.

Karimnagar: The 16th Deeksha Diwas was celebrated on a grand scale by BRS activists across the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Saturday.

Celebrations were organised at district party offices in Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Rajanna-Sircilla, with district presidents, MLAs, former MLAs and senior party leaders taking part.

As part of the festivities, photo exhibitions depicting BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Deeksha and images from the Telangana movement were displayed. Palabhishekam was performed on the cut-outs of the BRS chief.

MLAs Gangula Kamalakar and Padi Koushik Reddy and other leaders attended the event in Karimnagar. Kamalakar inaugurated a Deeksha observed by BRSV activists led by their in-charge Ponnam Anil Kumar Goud at Satavahana University.

In Jagtial, district president K Vidyasagar Rao and Korutla legislator Dr K Sanjay participated in the celebrations at Jagtial Telangana Bhavan.

Peddapalli district president Korukanti Chander, along with senior leader Koppula Eashwar and former MLA D Manohar Reddy, took part in the programme. Earlier, Chander distributed fruits to patients at the Godavarikhani area hospital. Subsequently, the BRS senior leader B Vinod Kumar joined the Deeksha Diwas observance in Sircilla.
