Kothagudem: BRS district president Rega Kantha Rao called upon the party cadres to be prepared to face an imminent by-election to the Bhadrachalam Assembly seat. This was in the wake of the possibility of sitting MLA Tellam Venkat Rao being disqualified on charges of defection.
Addressing the key functionaries of the party at a daylong meeting here on Saturday he said the party leadership would always stand by the cadres and protect them. He told the party workers to expose the failures of the ruling Congress to the public.
The Congress government has failed on many counts and unlike any other government has been facing public wrath within a short period of coming to power. Many of the six guarantees promised by Congress party like Rythu Bharosa were yet to be implemented, he said.
Three ministers in the district, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy have miserably failed to address recent Munnuru floods that caused devastation and left the affected families to their own fate. The public have openly criticised the Congress government and the district ministers for their failure while recalling how the previous BRS government came to their rescue when similar floods affected them, he said.Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was in the hearts of the public, who were benefitted by the welfare and development programmes implemented in the past, Kantha Rao noted.
MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, Khammam BRS district president, MLC, Tata Madhusudhan, former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, former MLA Vanama Venkateshwar Rao, senior leader Dindigala Rajender also addressed the party cadres, who attended the meeting in large numbers.
