Hyderabad: A delegation of BRS MLAs and MLCs on Friday called on DGP CV Anand and sought registration of an FIR against Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar over the attack on the camp office of Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar and also on the vehicle of Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy. They also urged increased security for Kaushik Reddy.
The delegation submitted a memorandum alleging that BJP workers carried out the attack following provocative remarks by Bandi Sanjay. They accused the police of failing to prevent the violence and demanded strict action against those involved.
Speaking to reporters outside the DGP office, MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy stated that law and order in Telangana had completely declined. He said the attackers came with the intention of killing Kaushik Reddy and urged the police to register cases against Bandi Sanjay for allegedly inciting the violence.
BRS Assembly Whip KP Vivekananda said Bandi Sanjay and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy were working together politically and targeting the BRS. He demanded that the Union Minister be named as the primary accused (A-1) in the FIR and said the party had submitted evidence to the DGP in this regard.
BRS Council Whip Desapathi Srinivas accused the government of failing to maintain law and order and warned against the emergence of a Bihar-style culture of violence in Telangana. He alleged that repeated attacks were taking place on BRS leaders and offices.
MLC Dasoju Sravan condemned the alleged derogatory remarks made by Bandi Sanjay against BRS working president KT Rama Rao and questioned whether the BJP’s ideology promoted such abusive remarks.
