Hyderabad: BRS leader Errolla Srinivas lashed out at the Congress government over the handling of the Sigachi Industries fire accident at Pashamylaram last month. He demanded the immediate release of Rs 1 crore each as ex-gratia to the bereaved families of the 54 deceased, as well as Rs 50 lakh compensation to the injured.
Speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday, Srinivas said the Congress government was inhuman and negligent towards the victims and their families. He stated that even after a month, the fate of eight missing workers remained unknown.
“This government cannot even recover bodies, as seen earlier in the SLBC accident,” he said.
The BRS leader said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who promised relief during his visit, failed to release even a rupee to the victims. He questioned the Congress government’s inaction against the Sigachi Industries management and demanded that the high-level committee’s report be made public.
Criticising the ruling party for focusing on attacking BRS leaders instead of supporting the victims’ families, he said the BRS would continue to fight until justice was ensured for the victims.
