BRS dismisses MP CM Ramesh’s remarks against KTR

Hyderabad: BRS leaders charged BJP MP CM Ramesh with stoking caste divisions with his baseless claims against party working president KT Rama Rao. They said Ramesh’s attempts to portray Rama Rao as anti-Kamma were absurd and politically motivated.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, former MLA Nallamothu Bhaskar Rao asserted that under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership, the previous BRS government had extended unprecedented support to the Kamma community, citing Ministerial berths for Puvvada Ajay and Tummala Nageshwar Rao, key party positions for Nama Nageshwar Rao and Thatha Madhu, and several others. “The members of Kamma community got more opportunities in BRS than in any other party, even more than in Telangana TDP,” he said.

He questioned Ramesh’s credibility, pointing out inconsistencies in his remarks about Rama Rao meeting him for MLC K Kavitha’s bail. “Kavitha got bail eight months ago. But Ramesh’s claim of a meeting Rama Rao four months ago, exposes his lies,” he added.

BRS leader Dinesh Chaudhary said Ramesh was indulging in diversion politics in collusion with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He reminded that the Kamma community stood by BRS even in 2018, when TDP contested in Telangana. He asserted that efforts to ignite caste wars like in Andhra Pradesh, will backfire in Telangana. He stated that KT Rama Rao unveiling the 25-foot statue of former Chief Minister and TDP founder NT Rama Rao in Khammam, was an example for his respect for Kamma icons.
