BRS leaders distributed Ramzan kits to poor Muslims across Siddipet town with the support of former minister T Harish Rao. Later, Harish Rao and former Home Minister Mohd. Mehmood Ali attended a large iftar gathering at the Idgah.
Siddipet: BRS leaders distributed Ramzan kits to poor Muslims across Siddipet town on Monday with the support of former minister T Harish Rao.
Former Municipal Chairman K Rajanarsu, BRS senior leaders Macha Venugopal Reddy and Pala Sairam, along with local councillors and minority leaders, organised ward-level meetings and handed over the kits to poor Muslims to help them celebrate the festival in a grand manner.
The BRS leaders accused the Congress government of discontinuing the tradition of distributing Ramzan gifts, which was launched by the BRS government led by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. They said the BRS government had also recognised Ramzan as an official festival and organised iftar parties at the government’s expense.
Later in the evening, Harish Rao, former Home Minister Mohd. Mehmood Ali and others participated in a massive iftar party at the Idgah in Siddipet town. A large number of Muslims from across the town attended the festivities organised by the BRS.
