Hyderabad: BRS Assembly whip KP Vivekanand Goud lashed out at the Congress government for mismanaging the ongoing Assembly session and ignoring pressing issues while the people were suffering from floods and urea shortage. He said the government lacked clarity on fixing daily agenda and tabling of bills, while discussion on pressing issues like floods and urea shortage were being deliberately avoided.
He demanded that the session be extended to discuss urgent matters like floods and urea scarcity, adding that the opposition was ready to stay in the House till late nights.
Speaking at the Assembly media point, Vivekananda slammed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for flying to Kerala for an award function, neglecting discussion on Telangana’s interests during the session. “When farmers are struggling for urea and villages are submerged due to rains, the Chief Minister is busy pleasing his Delhi high command,” he charged.
On the Kaleshwaram issue, the BRS legislator stated that the PC Ghose Commission report was given in advance to the Congress MLAs unofficially. He also criticised the government for depriving BRS MLAs of opportunity to prepare by tabling the 665-page report just hours before the debate. “This is nothing but deception. They are trying to blame the Kaleshwaram project while still using its waters,” he said.
