BRS leader assaulted for questioning misappropriation of funds in Mancherial
A BRS leader was allegedly assaulted by Congress workers in Mancherial after exposing alleged fund misuse on social media. The incident, which triggered tension, occurred in Bheemaram, and police have registered a case against eight persons and launched an investigation.

Mancherial: A BRS leader was allegedly assaulted by Congress workers for highlighting misappropriation of funds on social media platforms in Bheemaram mandal centre on Sunday night.
The BRS leader Sunkari Gopal reportedly highlighted the misuse of funds while taking up development projects in Bheemaram village on Facebook and WhatsApp. He was reportedly targetted by the Congress for continuing to question the local representatives by exposing their irregularities on the two platforms for over a week.
Gopal was also posting messages on social media platforms criticising labor minister Dr G Vivek, which irked the Congress workers. Some activists led by one Suresh Yadav was alleged to have assaulted Gopal after picking an argument with him at a meeting meant for construction of a temple on Sunday night.
It was alleged that the incident occurred/ in presence of policemen. Gopal accused the leaders of trying to kill him. Activists from BRS retaliated, resulting in a mild tension.
Police rushed to the spot and pacified the agitated Congress and BRS workers. Police said that a case was registered against eight persons including Avula Suresh Yadav and Uskemalla Punnam Chandu from Bheemaram. Investigations were taken up.
