Adilabad: BRS leader Tula Srinivas demanded the government initiate procurement of soy produce. He along with farmers staged a rasta-roko on the main road seeking purchase of the oil grains in Boath mandal centre on Saturday.
Srinivas regretted that the farmers were inconvenienced due to delays in procuring 10,000 quintals of soy produce transported to a market yard in Boath.
He said that the farmers were in a dilemma as to whom they should sell their produce. He wanted the government to take steps for immediate procurement of the produce. He warned that they would intensify their agitation against it if the grains were not procured.
The farmers withdrew their protest when police and officials of the marketing department assured that they would address their problem at the earliest.
