Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS State General Secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar warned that they would knock on the doors of Supreme Court if the government planned to snatch lands in which crops were being cultivated by Dalits for 50 years.

He called on the farmers from weaker sections after learning that the forest officials were preventing the Dalits from tilling lands at Dorpalli and Kommuguda villages in Sirpur (T) mandal on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Praveen Kumar opined that it was cruel to prevent farmers from cultivating lands despite having land titles issued by the then Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said that tilling lands and taking up agriculture as a profession was the right to life as per Article 21 and 19 of Indian constitution.

The BRS leader criticised the forest officials for trying to grab in the lands certified by revenue officials. He said that interfering in the lands was an unconstitutional act by the officials. He threatened a case would be registered against the officials if they continued to harass the farmers from weaker sections.

He announced that they were ready to die to protect the lands if the officials continued to target the farmers even after having land titles. He later spoke to officials over the phone and demanded them to take steps to address the problem. He assured that the BRS would stand by the farmers until the issue of the lands was resolved.
