BRS leader Sunke Ravishankar placed under house arrest in Karimnagar
BRS leader and former MLA Sunke Ravishankar was placed under house arrest in Karimnagar on Sunday, coinciding with AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s yatra in Choppadandi. He slammed the Congress government for “ridiculously” detaining opposition leaders in the name of Praja Palana.
Karimnagar: BRS leader and former MLA Sunke Ravishankar was placed under house arrest by police at his residence in Burugupalli of Gangadhara mandal on Sunday.
The action came in the wake of AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s yatra in Choppadandi constituency. Police took Ravishankar into preventive custody and confined him to his house.
Reacting to the development, Ravishankar said Congress leaders had to resort to detaining opposition leaders in their houses if they wanted to come into public. He described it as “ridiculous” to confine leaders in the name of Praja Palana.
