Jagtial: BRS leader and former MLA Sunke Ravishankar demanded irrigation officials to protect standing crops in Sriramulapalli of Kodimial mandal by supplying water from the Yellampalli project.
Agricultural lands in the village were unable to get irrigable water due to the closing of sluices of the SRSP canal. So, the officials should supply Yellampalli water to standing crops by opening sluices, he said.
Ravishankar on Saturday visited the village and examined the closed sluices. He also spoke to irrigation officials over phone and asked them to open sluices as early as possible.
Speaking on the occasion, the BRS leader said that not a single gunta of paddy had withered during the last 10 years. Crops were protected by supplying Yellampalli water during the BRS regime. However, crops were withering after the Congress government came to power.
