Hyderabad: Angered over the repeated false and malicious social media posts targeting BRS working president KT Rama Rao, party leaders filed complaints at various police stations across the State on Sunday. They pointed out that the Congress party was orchestrating the smear campaign and demanded stringent action against those responsible for the misinformation campaign.

The BRS leaders of Nizamabad led by party district president and former MLA A Jeevan Reddy lodged complaints with the Nizamabad Police Commissioner, seeking action against the perpetrators. Similar complaints were filed in Hyderabad, where Goshamahal constituency leader Ashik Kumar Yadav and others filed a complaint with the local ACP at the Central Crime Station. Youth wing leaders of the BRS also filed complaints in Sircilla, Warangal and several other places with the local police in this regard.

The BRS filed numerous complaints opposing the false propaganda against Rama Rao. They said the Congress party was running the smear campaign as a diversionary tactic to cover up its inability to deliver its electoral promises. They pointed out the irony of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy decrying propaganda against his party, while allowing his own social media team to attack Rama Rao. The BRS leaders warned that if the defamatory posts continued, they would respond forcefully to defend their leader.
