Hyderabad: A delegation of BRS leaders, including Leader of Opposition in the Council S Madhusudhana Chari, met Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty on Tuesday, alleging life threats to MLC Shambhipur Raju from former MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao and his son MLA Mynampally Rohit.

Addressing the media on the occasion, Madhusudhana Chari said Shambhipur Raju had played a key role in the Telangana movement and was now being targeted for raising questions against the Congress government. He demanded that the threatening calls be probed thoroughly. He urged immediate police action, warning of mass backlash if justice is delayed.

MLA KP Vivekananda said Mynampally Hanumantha Rao’s followers were using abusive language and making threats to Raju, but no action was being taken against them.

“Law and order is out of control in Telangana,” he said.

MLC Dasoju Sravan said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who once admitted he could have become a rowdy, was now running the State with goons. He said that threats, drugs and attacks have increased under the Congress regime.

Former IPS officer and BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar criticised the Congress for turning Telangana into a rowdy regime. He demanded that rowdy-sheets be opened and cases booked under the Gunda and PD Acts against the accused.

MLAs Dr Kalvakuntla Sanjay, T Ravinder Rao and other BRS leaders were also present.
