Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao on Saturday strongly condemned the filing of what he calls “illegal cases” against former Minister Srinivas Goud and other BRS leaders.

Rao criticised the actions as politically motivated and aimed at targeting families for questioning the demolition of houses belonging to the poor.

“Is this what public governance means — silencing the voices of opposition fighting on public issues?” Rao questioned. He emphasised that BRS leaders are no strangers to such cases and threats.

“No matter how many threats or illegal cases are filed, we will continue to hold the government accountable and fight for the people,” the BRS leader said.

He demanded the immediate withdrawal of the cases against BRS leaders, stating that the party will not be intimidated and will continue its struggle for the rights of the people.
