Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao hailed the sacrifices of the working class on the occasion of International Labour Day on Thursday. He stated that their hard work builds the nation and creates wealth which is priceless.

In a statement, Rama Rao remembered the previous BRS government’s initiatives to support the working class including bonuses and job security for Singareni miners, salary hikes and health insurance for RTC staff. He also pointed to financial assistance and welfare boards set up for auto drivers and those in the unorganised sector.

“We established Telangana as an industrial model, created lakhs of jobs, and extended special protections to women workers to boost their empowerment,” he said. Reaffirming the BRS’s pro-labour stance, he said the party would continue to fight for workers’ rights. He vowed to work for unity and equality among all sections of labour.

Senior BRS MLA and former Minister T Harish Rao also extended his greetings to the workforce, calling them the backbone of the nation. He lauded their tireless efforts and dedicated spirit.

BRS MLC K Kavitha termed May Day as the day of victory for working people. “I salute the labourers and farmers whose sweat drives global progress,” she added.
