Khammam: Former BRS MP Nama Nageswara Rao strongly condemned the alleged attempt to rape and kill a minor girl in Khammam, describing the incident as inhumane.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said such barbaric attacks on children cause civil society to hang its head in shame. He urged the State government and the police to ensure a trial in a fast-track court and impose the severest punishment on the accused.

Nageswara Rao wanted the authorities to stand by the girl’s family and ensure that justice was served to them. The government should come down with an iron hand to strike fear into the hearts of criminals and take stringent measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.

BRS former district president Mohammad Tajuddin expressed deep anguish over the incident and described it as a heinous crime that deeply disturbs civil society. Wishing the girl a speedy recovery, he conveyed his sympathies to her family.

He urged the government to pay special attention to the case and ensure justice for the victim’s family. Along with creating public awareness to prevent the recurrence of such atrocities, it was essential to take stern action against the offenders.
