Hyderabad: The BRS on Sunday signalled an aggressive floor strategy ahead of the Assembly session commencing on Monday, vowing to corner the two-year-old Congress government on a string of policy failures and governance lapses.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Sunday, BRS Assembly whip KP Vivekananda said the opposition would strongly fight in the House, with a sharp focus on the neglect of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project under the Congress regime. He said the party would question the government’s evasion of implementing the six guarantees and 420 promises made before the elections.
The BRS plans to raise issues ranging from the management of Gurukul schools and reported student deaths to the merger of 22 municipalities into the GHMC without public consultation. Suicides of auto drivers, lack of bonus to farmers for crops, urea shortages and farmer suicides will also figure prominently in the party’s attack.
Vivekananda said the government would be questioned over the alleged misuse of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) funds for a football event involving Lionel Messi and the conduct of defecting MLAs. He said the BRS would press for a long session to debate various people’s issues. He said the BRS was fully prepared for a discussion on the BRS’s ten-year rule as well.
