Hyderabad: The BRS has charged Rajanna Sircilla Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha with abusing his authority to target party supporters. Opposition Leader in the Legislative Council S Madhusudhana Chary, along with MLAs KP Vivekananda and M Sanjay Kumar, lodged a formal complaint with Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari, demanding action against him.
Stating that the Collector was intimidating citizens for political reasons, they warned of Statewide protests if action was not taken against him.
“We will take to the streets, if this political harassment does not stop. The people of Telangana will not tolerate such oppression,” they declared.
Speaking to mediapersons at the State Secretariat on Tuesday, Madhusudhana Chary said a tea shop owner, a known supporter of BRS working president and Sircilla legislator KT Rama Rao, was being harassed under the pretext of lacking trade licence. “The shop was forcibly shut without notice. The Collector is misusing his power to intimidate those aligned with BRS. We have submitted a written complaint and demanded immediate corrective action,” he said.
He criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for failing to control the administration, accusing his government of running on vendetta politics. “Revanth Reddy has no grip on governance. Officials are acting with unchecked power, silencing opposition voices,” he said.
Vivekananda slammed the Chief Minister’s leadership, citing his own statements on governance. “Revanth Reddy himself claimed that the officials were indulging in lobbying and settlements, despite his warning. This shows his lack of control,” he remarked.
