Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has termed the Telangana Group-I examination results the biggest scam in the country and demanded their immediate cancellation. He called for a judicial probe or a CBI inquiry into serious irregularities in the conduct and evaluation of the exams.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Kaushik Reddy pointed out glaring discrepancies. He said that 21,093 candidates had appeared for the exam, but results were announced for 21,103, an addition of ten candidates. He questioned how 654 candidates ended up with the same marks, calling it unbelievable. He suspected targeted favouritism, citing that only 69 candidates got jobs from exam centres where 10,000 appeared, while 74 candidates were selected from just two centres – 18 and 19, at Koti Women’s College, which had only 1,494 candidates.
He also noted that Congress leader Ramulu Naik’s daughter-in-law, who wrote the exam in centre-19, secured ST Category Rank 1.
He raised questions over disproportionate results across mediums, stating that 7 out of 9 Urdu medium candidates were selected, while only 70 out of 7,800 Telugu medium candidates made it through.
The BRS MLA also alleged tampering in evaluation process and questioned how a press release originally cited 100 marks for a paper, which was later altered to 123 marks in some cases. He attacked both the Congress and BJP, accusing them of colluding and remaining silent on the issue. “Where is union Minister G Kishan Reddy? Why is union Minister Bandi Sanjay not demanding cancellation like he did during BRS regime?” he asked.
Stating that crores of rupees had changed hands, he said it was sure that the Revanth Reddy government would slap another case on him. However, he declared that it will not deter him from exposing the facts.
