Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy levelled a series of serious allegations against Gaush Alam, accusing him of abuse of power, corruption and misuse of government resources. Demanding an inquiry and action against the Commissioner, he warned that if action was not taken within 15 days, he would release videos and documentary evidence in the Assembly and before the media.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday, Kaushik Reddy alleged that the Commissioner was using government vehicles for private purposes. He cited two Innova cars, stating that they were being used by the officer’s associates and family members, including his brother. Constables, including government drivers, were assigned for personal duties, he said, adding that a government vehicle was being used for the father of an IRS officer, purportedly a friend of the Commissioner, and questioned the inaction of senior officials despite the vehicle being parked in Hyderabad for months.
The BRS MLA also accused the Commissioner of large-scale corruption in Karimnagar district, including collecting bribes in PDS rice operations, home guard transfers and issuance of NOCs to commercial establishments. He alleged that Rs. 1 crore was collected in connection with home guard transfers and Rs. 25 lakh for clearing a mall proposal.
He said over 20 personnel were deployed at the Commissioner’s residence in Karimnagar and questioned the provision of additional gunmen and escort vehicles. He urged the IPS Officers Association to seek corrective measures immediately and stop targeting him for exposing irregularities.
