Hyderabad: The BRS moved a privilege motion against Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, accusing him of misleading the House with false claims.
A delegation of BRS MLAs, led by former Minister T Harish Rao, met Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar at his chambers and submitted a petition serving a notice to the Minister in this regard.
In their petition, BRS legislators said that the Minister’s response during the Question Hour on the Roads and Buildings Department was factually incorrect. They presented evidence refuting his statements that no Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) allocations were received during the BRS regime, that no funds were sanctioned for roads in Nalgonda constituency, and that an escrow account was not opened for the Uppal elevated corridor, leading to its delay.
Terming the Minister’s remarks as deliberate misinformation, the BRS leaders urged the Speaker to take immediate action and allow their privilege motion notice. They maintained that Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s statements misrepresented facts and misled the Assembly.
