BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan demands cancellation of GO 85 over Oilfed land

BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded cancellation of GO 85, alleging that valuable Oilfed land at RTC Cross Roads was being handed over to private parties. He also sought scrapping of GO 366 and retention of the land for farmers’ needs.

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded immediate cancellation of GO 85, alleging that the Congress government was handing over valuable Telangana State Oil Federation (Oilfed) land at RTC Cross Roads to private parties at a fraction of its market value. He said the land, worth around Rs 500 crore, was being handed over for just around Rs 80 crore.

After inspecting the Oilfed land and palm oil stock point along with Amberpet MLA Kaleru Venkatesh and representatives of farmers’ organisations here on Monday, Sravan alleged that about 17,000 square yards of land was being privatised by relying on the disputed GO 366. He alleged that the land, located along the main road, was being targeted for real estate development.

The BRS MLC said the land had a long legal history and cited a 1987 Supreme Court judgment declaring it government property. He said the land was subsequently transferred to Telangana Oilfed and alleged that the present government revived the disputed arrangement through GO 85 issued on May 22, 2026. He also alleged that the government was neglecting the palm oil sector even as farmers were ready to expand cultivation, pointing out that Oilfed still had to establish three more mills.

Sravan demanded that GO 85 and GO 366 be scrapped unconditionally and that the land be retained permanently with Oilfed for farmers’ needs. He also demanded that the government disclose the beneficiaries behind the allocation and suspected the role of the Chief Minister’s family. He warned that the BRS would fight against GO 85 in the Assembly, Legislative Council, Parliament and courts until it was withdrawn.
