Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha has urged the Congress government to continue the development works initiated by the previous BRS regime at the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada. She emphasised the spiritual and cultural importance of Vemulawada in Telangana.

During her visit to the temple on Maha Shivratri on Wednesday, Kavitha recalled that the K Chandrashekhar Rao government had spent Rs 250 crore for the temple’s development, including the purchase of 30 acres near the temple pond for expansion.

However, she lamented the lack of progress under the Congress rule, demanding that the ongoing projects be completed swiftly. She prayed for the blessings of Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy on the people of Telangana.

Addressing the issues faced by handloom weavers in Sircilla, Kavitha charged the Congress government with neglecting the welfare schemes initiated by former Minister KT Rama Rao. “Sircilla which progressed under BRS regime, is now struggling again due to the Congress government’s inaction,” she remarked, demanding urgent support for weavers.

She condemned the harassment of BRS workers in Sircilla, citing the removal of a tea stall for displaying KT Rama Rao’s photo as an example of political vendetta. “This government is acting with sheer malice. Such discrimination must end immediately,” she asserted, warning the Congress government against political bias in governance.
