BRS MLCs stage protest over Congress government’s “gold” failure
The MLCs led by Opposition leader in Council S Madhusudana Chari and MLC K Kavitha, held gold bricks replicas, inscribed with "10 gram gold" to point out the Congress government's betrayal.
Hyderabad: The BRS MLCs staged a protest at the Telangana Legislative Council on Wednesday, over the Congress government’s failure to provide one tola gold to eligible brides for their wedding under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.
The MLCs led by Opposition leader in Council S Madhusudana Chari and MLC K Kavitha, held gold bricks replicas, inscribed with “10 gram gold” to point out the Congress government’s betrayal.
The BRS MLCs raised slogans against the Congress government, demanding that the government deliver its promises and commence distribution of one tola gold for the newly-wed brides including those who got married in the last 15 months since the Congress came to power in December 2023.
They charged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy with making grand promises, but failing to assist poor families waiting for the government’s aid for their daughter’s wedding.
