Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP and BRS Parliamentary Party deputy leader Vaddiraju Ravichandra was conferred the Jeevan Saaphalya Puraskar (Lifetime Achievement Award) by the Delhi-based Bharat Gaurav Foundation at its 8th annual awards ceremony held at Avasa Hotel Convention Hall in Hitech City on Friday.

The award was presented to the MP by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in the presence of dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha member Dr. Kova Lakshman, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Olympic bronze medalist Saina Nehwal, IPS officer Anjani Kumar, and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravichandra hailed the role of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao in shaping Telangana into a state, crediting him not only with achieving separate statehood for Telangana but also for transforming Hyderabad into a global city during his decade-long tenure.

He highlighted the decisive role played by then IT, Municipal Administration and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao in rebuilding Telangana.

Stating that Hyderabad was developed on par with leading American cities such as New York, Dallas, and Chicago, he said “Under KCR’s leadership, Hyderabad emerged as a major IT and pharma hub. Thousands of professionals from here have risen to top positions across the world,” the MP said, emphasizing India’s abundant youth power.

Thanking Bharat Gaurav Foundation organiser Sandesh Yadav and his team for hosting the event, Ravichandra assured that as a Rajya Sabha member, he would continue to work for the advancement of education, healthcare, and the promotion of micro, small, and medium enterprises.
