BRS MPs seek PM Modi’s intervention for key Telangana infrastructure projects

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MPs delegation called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to expedite approval of two major infrastructure projects in Telangana: the extension of NH 365B up to Vemulawada-Korutla and the construction of a road-cum-rail bridge over the Manair River.

Hyderabad: The BRS urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally intervene for the speedy approval and execution of two critical infrastructure projects including extension of NH 365B up to Vemulawada-Korutla and construction of a Road-Cum-Rail Bridge over the Manair River, in Telangana.

Citing prolonged delays despite repeated representations in this regard, the party sought immediate clearance for both the projects, terming them vital for regional connectivity and economic growth.

In their representation submitted to the Prime Minister in Delhi on Friday, the party MPs KR Suresh Reddy, Vaddiraju Ravichandra and Divakonda Damodar Rao requested the extension of NH 365B from Suryapet-Jangaon-Duddeda-Siddipet-Sircilla up to Vemulawada-Korutla.

The move would significantly improve road connectivity to major pilgrimage centres like Vemulawada, Kondagattu and Dharmapuri. The MPs said extending the highway up to Korutla was crucial for linkage with NH-63, enhancing the strategic road network in north Telangana.

The MPs also pressed for the planning and execution of a road-cum-rail bridge over the Manair River, in coordination with the Railways. They pointed out that while the Hyderabad-Karimnagar railway line (Manoharabad-Kothapally) was under execution, tendering for the Manair River bridge is still pending.

They argued that if the NH 365B extension is approved up to Korutla, a road-cum-rail bridge would offer long-term logistical and economic benefits and would be the first such facility in Telangana.

Pointing out that the NH 365B proposal has been pending with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for several years, the MPs said the project has been pursued by both the previous BRS government and the current Congress government.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao also submitted a representation to union Minister for National Highways Nitin Gadkari on the issue in February this year.
