Hyderabad: The BRS NRI UK unit has decided to intensify social media campaigns and organise protest programmes in London in support of the party’s programmes in Telangana. The decision was taken during an extended executive committee meeting of the BRS NRI UK unit held in London under the leadership of its president Naveen Reddy, who criticised the Congress government and announced that they would intensify campaigns on public issues, the Six Guarantees and other electoral promises.
BRS NRI UK founder president and former FDC chairman Anil Kurmachalam attended the meeting as chief guest. Floral tributes were paid to former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy and BRS NRI UK member Srinath Reddy, who passed away recently. The gathering also paid homage to Telangana martyrs and Prof Jayashankar by observing a two-minute silence.
A large number of Telangana NRIs from different parts of the UK joined the BRS at the meeting. Anil Kurmachalam welcomed the new members by presenting them with party scarves. The new entrants said they were joining the party to work under the leadership of party president K Chandrashekhar Rao and working president KT Rama Rao.
Anil Kurmachalam recalled the activities undertaken by BRS NRI in London over the past 16 years and the services rendered by Telangana NRIs to the party. He said party leaders, including K Chandrashekhar Rao, KT Rama Rao and BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao, had encouraged NRIs.
Advisory Board chairman CK Chandrashekar Goud said BRS NRI activists had maintained discipline and dedication since the Telangana movement.
General secretary Ratnakar Kadudula said the organisation would continue raising issues concerning the Congress government’s implementation of the Six Guarantees and other promises.
Youth Wing convenor Prashanth Mamidala alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was resorting to “diversion politics” to deflect attention from the government’s failures. IT, Media and PR secretary Ravi Pradeep Pulusu said the organisation would intensify its campaign on government policies and decisions using facts and statistics.
