Adilabad: A nine-member panel, formed by BRS and led by former Minister S Niranjan Reddy, to identify causes behind the farm crisis, called on the kin of Ade Gajanand, who died by suicide at Neradogonda Thanda in Gudihathnoor mandal, on Friday. It was the maiden tour of the panel. The team was joined by local MLA Anil Jadhav.
Niranjan Reddy said that the committee was formed by BRS supremo K Chandrashekhar Rao to understand the reasons behind the suicides of farmers in the State. He stated that it would study the major challenges of farmers and recommend ways to prevent suicides. He advised the farmers to report their grievances instead of resorting to extreme steps.
Anil Jadhav assured to provide all support to the family of the farmer. He stated that the Congress government was duping farmers by not fulfilling its poll promises. He opined that the delay in the implementation of the promises was forcing the farmers to end their lives. He recalled that the farmers were protected by the then-BRS government.
During the visit, the members extended a financial aid of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of Gajanand. They said that the farmers would be able to find brighter days ahead under the leadership of Chandrashekhar Rao. Members of the panel included Rasamayi Balakishan, Puvvada Ajay, Satyavathi Rathod, Jogu Ramanna, MC Kotireddy, Yadav Reddy, Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy, Anjaiah Yadav and others.
