Karimnagar: BRS women activists staged a dharna at Telangana Chowk here on Monday, demanding the immediate arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s son Sai Bageerath in the POCSO case. They raised slogans against the Union Minister. They displayed placards printed with closed-eye pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shut-up gesture photos of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The agitating workers pasted posters on saffron cloth arranged by BJP cadre on the eve of the Hindu Ektha Yatra to be held in the town on Tuesday. However, police tore them off. Speaking on the occasion, former district libraries chairman Ponnam Anil Kumar Goud demanded that the Union Minister take oath in the name of the goddesses of Mahashakti temple that his son has no relation with the minor girl.
Unfortunately, the State government has not responded to the incident, he said, and suspected that CM Revanth Reddy was supporting the Union Minister in the minor girl’s case. Sanjay Kumar should prove his sincerity by resigning from his ministerial post as well as MP post. Demanding the arrest of Sai Bageerath, he said that the BRS would continue its agitation till justice was done to the minor girl.
