Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar questioned the State government’s discrimination towards sportspersons such as Agasara Nandini who won a bronze medal for India in the heptathlon event in Asian Games 2022 and many medals in national events.

Taking to X, Praveen Kumar welcomed the State government’s decision to appoint boxer Nikhat Zareen and cricketer Mohammed Siraj as Deputy Superintendents of Police in the Telangana Police Department. However, he asked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy about the indifference shown to Nandini.

“What is extremely perplexing is the cruel indifference of the Congress government towards Agasara Nandini. Her poor parents tried to meet the Chief Minister and others for justice but in vain. Why this discrimination? Is it because she studied in social welfare hostels?” he asked.

I welcome Telangana government’s gesture of appointing Boxer Nikhat Zareen and cricketer Siraj as Dy SPs in Telangana Police. But what is extremely perplexing is the cruel indifference of the same @revanth_anumula’s congress government towards Ms Agasara Nandini who also won… pic.twitter.com/UDKDn82xjN
