Hyderabad: BRS leaders Gongidi Sunitha and Rajini Saichand hit out at the Congress government over Miss England Milla Magee’s abrupt exit from the Miss World pageant in Hyderabad. They charged the Congress government with insulting women and tarnishing Telangana’s global reputation, while the previous BRS regime ensured women were respected, and festivals like Bathukamma were celebrated as symbols of Telangana’s cultural pride.

At a press meet, Sunitha said the BRS would approach the Human Rights Commission over alleged misconduct during the pageant. Questioning Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s review meetings and repeated appearances at the event, she ridiculed the Congress government’s claims to be attracting investments to the State by hosting Miss World. “Will investments come by insulting women?” she asked.
