Hyderabad: BRS leader and retired IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar launched a scathing attack on the Congress government for allegedly promoting caste discrimination in social welfare hostels.

He lashed out at IAS officer Alugu Varshini for her reported remarks suggesting that students from poor families should clean toilets and cook their meals in hostels, claiming it would “build good habits”.

Condemning her comments, he said no officer would make such derogatory and irresponsible statement without the Chief Minister’s backing. “Revanth Reddy garu, your officer is openly saying Dalit children should clean toilets because they don’t come from rich families. If this is such a noble reform, implement it in corporate schools where your children go,” he said.

Praveen Kumar went on to target the Congress leadership, stating that if such actions were about dignity and self-reliance, the Chief Minister, Ministers and the officials in the government should start washing their own toilets. “Share those videos with the people of Telangana,” he challenged.

He also appealed to the housekeeping staff to boycott the residences of the Chief Minister, Ministers and officials to mark their protest. He questioned Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha over their silence against the attack on the dignity of oppressed communities.
