Karimnagar: BRS activists staged a protest demonstration at the Chigurumamidi MPDO office, demanding that the State government fulfil its poll promises and complete the pending development works.
Speaking at the protest, leaders alleged that the Congress, which came to power by making tall promises, had cheated the public by failing to implement them. They said the ruling government had not taken up even the projects for which foundation stones were laid by the previous government.
They noted that people continued to suffer due to the lack of bridges on the Eglaspur-Mogilipalem and Indurthi-Koheda roads. They also said Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, who promised to sanction a road from Sundaragiri to Ullampalli, failed to fulfil his commitment even months after making the assurance.
According to the protestors, no developmental activity had been sanctioned even after two years of Congress coming to power, and they warned that they would attack the Minister’s office in Husnabad if public issues were not resolved immediately.
On learning about the protest, SI Sai Krishna rushed to the spot and persuaded the agitating BRS workers to withdraw their demonstration. Later, the delegation submitted a representation to Mandal Parishad MPDO Bathini Kiran.
