Hyderabad: BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao suspended MLC K Kavitha from the party with immediate effect. The suspension orders were issued by party general secretary and disciplinary committee chairman Soma Bharat Kumar and general secretary T Ravinder Rao on Tuesday.
In the order, the BRS stated that its central leadership had taken the decision after reviewing recent developments and issues brought to the party’s notice. The leadership took serious cognisance of Kavitha’s recent anti-party activities that were damaging to the party.
The disciplinary action came after Kavitha directly blamed former Minister Harish Rao and party general secretary J Santosh Rao for the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme.
She had also made derogatory remarks against former Minister and senior leader G Jagadish Reddy earlier.
