Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will participate in the public hearing to be conducted by the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Friday over the proposed ‘Rythu DISCOM’ of the Congress government.
A BRS delegation led by party Working President KT Rama Rao will attend the hearing scheduled for 10 am. Former Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy, former Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy and other senior leaders and elected representatives will also take part.
The BRS alleged that the Congress government was attempting to introduce measures detrimental to farmers and the State’s power sector under the guise of a separate DISCOM for agriculture. The party said it would place its objections to the proposal before the ERC and raise concerns regarding its impact on Telangana’s farming community and electricity sector.
