BRS leader T Harish Rao criticised Telangana Farmers' Commission chairman Kodanda Reddy for stating that three hours of electricity supply was enough for farmers. He alleged that the Congress government was attempting to weaken the 24-hour free power supply system introduced during the BRS regime.

The BRS will participate in the ERC public hearing on Friday regarding the Congress government’s proposed Rythu DISCOM. A delegation led by KT Rama Rao will present objections and raise concerns over the proposal’s impact on Telangana farmers and the power sector.

The Telangana power distribution companies TGSPDCL and TGNPDCL have petitioned the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) to levy an additional surcharge of Rs 0.59 per unit on open access consumers. The move follows the government’s cancellation of night allowance for such consumers.

Based on BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s call for Statewide celebrations, party leaders and activists celebrated the event.

Since the discoms did not propose an increase in tariff of domestic consumers, there will be no change in the traffic for the current financial year.
