Sangareddy: The BRS is preparing to launch various protest programmes across Sangareddy district to expose the negligence of the Congress government in taking up the works of the Sangameshwara Lift Irrigation Project (SLIP) and Basaveshwara Lift Irrigation Project (BLIP).

These two projects were part of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS). Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao laid a foundation for these two projects in February 2022 to provide irrigation water to four lakh acres in Narayankhed, Zaheerabad, Andole, and Sangareddy Assembly segments.

However, Congress had put no effort into starting the works of these lift irrigation projects even though they completed 14 months in office.

Former Minister T Harish Rao held a meeting with BRS leaders from Sangareddy district at his residence in Hyderabad on Friday to chalk out a plan to expose the government’s failure and force Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to take up the work immediately.

Rao called upon the BRS leaders and cadre to organise protest programmes in the nook and corner of these four constituencies to expose the government’s ignorance. The meeting was held in the wake of party supremo Chandrashekhar Rao’s directions.

After a team of party workers from Zaheerabad constituency went on foot to Erravally to meet Chandrashekhar Rao. He discussed the inordinate delay of the project works and asked them to chalk out a plan. Rao also said that he would also participate in a public meeting in one of these four constituencies.

Party leaders V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Chintha Prabhakar, K Manik Rao, M Bhupal Reddy, P Jaipal Reddy, Malkapura Shiva Kumar, Kasala Buchi Reddy and others were present at the meeting.
